The Story Behind the Story
I wrote Leave Her Wilde as an act of personal healing. It has been both a reckoning with the past and a reclamation of my voice. For years, I carried memories that felt too heavy to name, let alone share. But I came to believe that the act of writing them down, even through the lens of fiction, was a way to release them, and in doing so, begin to heal.
This story is deeply inspired by my own journey, but it’s also for anyone who’s ever been silenced, overlooked, or made to believe their story didn’t matter. Because it does. Yours does.
I believe that everyone has a story. Some of us just had to survive it first. Bad things happen. People fail us. But we are not defined by what happened to us. We are defined by how we choose to carry it, transform it, and move forward.
